I came across Ibogaine reading advice for someone who was trying to give up a 15 year Heroin habit. I must confess, I had never heard of Ibogaine before, not on the old Rorta forums or anywhere else and when I heard it could cure Heroin addiction in one treatment I was sure it was a complete scam or a drug manufactured abroad by a questionable Chinese pharmaceutical firm.
Perhaps I should be less cynical.
Ibogaine is a naturally occurring psychoactive drug with psychedelic properties that can be found in several plants. It’s also a tryptamine similar to drugs like AMT but its tripping potential isn’t what interests me. What interests me is its reputation as a drug that can cure addictions. People have reported its success in treating Opiate, Alcohol, Stimulant and cigarette addictions.
Ibogaine seems to achieve this by encouraging introspective thoughts where people look at their what led to their addictions in the first place as well as alleviating the symptoms of Opiate withdrawal, which as any Opiate user will tell you is fucking awful and is one of the biggest reasons why quitting Opiates is so tough.
Of course it’s not a commonly found drug on the black market and has a dubious legal status in many countries meaning that independent research is difficult to achieve.
There are a lot of trip reports and detailed encounters with Ibogaine, such as the links below. I’ll be publishing any new information I hear about in further articles.
I’ve been posting a lot recently online (Here and elsewhere) about self-improvement and I want to share my programme, firstly so that I can see how much I have actually achieved and secondly in the hope that I can help others to improve their lives. Continue reading My Self Improvement Programme→
In a previous post I discussed how I was supplementing with Zinc in order to see if I could get any measurable increase in my quality of sleep and my Testosterone levels. Having stopped using Zinc for a few days and instantly the quality of sleep I was getting decreased somewhat. Continue reading A little update with my Zinc Experiment→
I remember a lot of people on the old Rorta.Net talking about lucid dreams and how you could go about inducing them. Zinc, ladies and gentleman is the way to go about it. Continue reading Zinc and Lucid Dreams→
It started a few years ago. Physically I was in the best shape of my life. A year or so of eating right and hitting the gym had paid off. Mentally I was in the worst shape of my life. For all intents and purposes, aside from my investments I was broke. I had lost four members of my family and my long term relationship had ended. I was abusing Weed, Coke and MDMA regularly.
As me and a friend began working 14 hour days forging a business, I let myself fall into a bad way physically. I stopped working out. I stopped running. I stopped taking care of my body. The more money I made the more I spent on food. I would get a takeaway most nights and go out for dinner to a restaurant once or twice a week. In the daytime I would eat and drink garbage. In a year I gained three stone, and lost thousands of pounds in doing so. I estimate some weeks I may well have spent £100 on food and drinks, excluding alcohol. This may seem like a relatively small amount but many people my age struggle don’t have that after working a week once their rent is paid.
I tried various diets and briefly documented my Steak and Eggs diet and although I lost weight it wasn’t good enough. In February I decided to bring my cost of food down to an absolute minimum – £15 a week and do the same with my daily Caloric intake, which I bought down to 1600 calories per day.
Three months later I have saved a fair amount of money and I’m now at a lower BF% than I was before I got myself into this mess. My face isn’t as chiselled as it once was and I don’t have anywhere near the muscle mass I used to have, but we will get there. Once I’m happy – The goal is ten stone and I’m at 11 now – we’ll move onto the next challenge: How to save money and gain mass.
Smoking is one of those things which has really no positives whatsoever, and instead a shitload of potentially massively life affecting negatives. There is really no reason to smoke anymore. Anyone telling you too smoke in this day in age is a complete moron. There are no excuses. We have known for a considerable time that smoking causes a multitude of cancers, increases the risk of heart disease and strokes and is a leading cause of respiratory diseases.
